Day Hike, December 26, 2020

A beautiful day with amazing clouds as we hiked about four and a half miles, including a climb of about 300 ft, in Annadel State Park, starting at the top of Oak Mesa Drive, walking along a fire road and up White Oak Drive to an entrance to Annadel, taking Two-Quarry Trail to Marsh Trail, following that to Ledson Marsh, then returning.

We even got to see a salamander escaping us along the side of the trail, as shown in this video.

Because we got some rain in the last day or two (much, much needed given the drought conditions through most of the fall), there were puddles along the paths that made for very nice reflections.

When we arrived at Ledson Marsh, it was quite dry, not yet recovered from the drought, but with lots of tall grasses.
