Hike In Sugarloaf Ridge State Park

Wen and Bob

Bob and Wen meet at an ice-cream social at Judy's house where we realize we both enjoy hiking. So the next day we go hiking up to Bald Mountain on a beautiful, breezy day. Judy arranges for people to make presentations at Oakmont and she had invited Wen to make a presentation about Chinese and North Korean culture, history and society. Wen lives in southern California near Caltech in Pasadena. During the walk Wen talks about her love of gardening, so after the walk Bob takes her to the Oakmont Community Garden to meet Shirley. Shirley and Wen then go on an Oakmont garden tour which just happens to have been scheduled for today.

We reach the top of Bald Mountain and have it to ourselves! We would pass over 20 hikers coming up on our way down. It's good to start early.
