Because it was a beautiful day and we hoped to see fields of mustard in bloom as we had in the past, we drove to Lake Sonoma via Dry Creek. Although there was little mustard in bloom, the scenery was still wonderful.

After visiting Lake Sonoma we began driving back and stopped at the Lake Sonoma Fish Hatchery. There we got to see salmon (very large salmon) swimming in the creek. Then we went into the visitor center, where a mountain lion was awaiting Shirley's arrival. There was also a porcupine which Bob petted. Turns out if you pet the porcupine from head to tail it is quite smooth. However, if you pet it in the other direction you get stuck by sharp needles. We also saw baskets woven by the nearby Pomo people.
