The telescope was manufactured in Fairhope, Alabama, which caught Bob's attention because when he visited his son in Alabama the family drove to Fairhope. Look carefully at the last of the four pictures (as always, click on pic to get full resolution) to see the engravings Redwoods, Northern Spotted Owls, Giant Salamanders, and Forest.

As we climb up the Sea to Sky trail Bob notices in the far distance a structure to which he climbed long ago.

As we are hiking back (both of us commenting on how much easier and faster it is going down hill!), we notice the only other two people we have seen on the hike far ahead of us. They walk up into a copse of trees near the trail. There is a picnic table there. Neither of us can remember ever having seen a table there in our earlier hikes on this trail.

In the far distance in another direction we see a house. It appears to not have other homes nearby.

As we are nearing the end of our hike, we finally see cows, which we normally see at the beginning. As usual Bob tries to start a conversation with them, but, also as usual, none of them answers back. We also see more very pretty flowers.

We get to the parking lot, take off our boots and put on shoes, drink the cool lemonade which Reenie had prepared and brought along in her insulated thermos (OK, Bob does most of the drinking), and begin our drive home. Actually, instead of driving directly home, we first stop at a pullout and see lots of sea gulls and several seals on a beach in the distance.

Then we drive to the Spud Point Crab Company at Bodega Bay so Bob can get his favorite crab sandwiches for dinner (he actually takes them home and shares them with Shirley). Reenie gets clam chowder to share with Bill. We decide not to stop at Captain Davey's Coffee and Ice Cream for Bob to get an ice cream cone as he has in the past. We drive home through the beautiful countryside. A wonderful end to a fabulous adventure.
Photos and narrative were contributed by Reenie and Bob, flower names by Shirley
