Hike Through Point Reyes National Seashore Park
Marin County, California - March, 2015

Hiking Route

We parked near the Bear Valley Visitor Center and went in the direction indicated by the red arrows on the map shown below. A drawback, by the way, to the route we followed is that the coast is in view only a small part of the time - most of Sky Trail is in the forest and provides no view of the ocean. On the other hand, once we reached the top of Mt. Wittenberg Trail, the rest of the trip was basically down hill on very pleasant paths. If you click on the map below, you will see the full resolution image of the entire Point Reyes National Seashore Hiking Map/South District, which is where our hike took place. If you click on North District, you will see the map for that part of the park.

We ended the hike walking along Bear Valley Trail, a flat, wide path next to a stream. Here are a couple of very short videos capturing the sound of the stream: Video 1 and video 2.
