Shoddy Home Building In Grandview
Miller Enterprises Strikes Again

February 28, 2002

This letter is from a resident of Fountain Lake in Grandview, Missouri. As with so many others, he was a victim of Miller Enterprises, which was taken to court by the Missouri Attorney General and ultimately ordered to repair homes of some of the victims. A year later, many of those home repairs had not taken place or had just been started according to a news story on Fox 4 News aired tonight.

This is but one of many letters that have recently been sent to NeighborhoodNet, Homeowners Against Deficient Dwellings (HADD), and, most importantly, the members of the Kansas House Committee on Business, Commerce, and Labor. The hope is that the heart felt letters from homeowners, along with the publicity (see articles in the Johnson County Sun and the Kansas City Star) will persuade legislators that they need to do something immediately. Representative Ray Merrick has submitted bill HD2835 to begin addressing these problems. Representative Al Lane, Chair of the Committee, has stated that there is not enough time to do anything about this legislation.

We fervently hope that Representative Lane and his Committee will find a way to address this legislation after all - that they will understand that the time has come to do their duty.

I cannot completely express my concern and interest on the Miller Enterprises issue. As a victim of this company s services, I must raise my voice above the crowd and insist on actions must be taken to stop this deceitful, deceptive business.

For 10 years after Miller Enterprises completed my defective home, I have sought some relief. Please prevent Jeff Miller the builder, and what ever name he now or in the future may use, from destroying the financial and emotional dreams of other families.

What is interesting, Miller himself is the facilitator of the problem, however it is the qualities of the sub-contractor he uses that are directly Responsible. As the Owner however, he must be responsible for their workmanship and product. After all, people are buying his product.

He shields himself behind his attorney and bleeds people financially dry through costly litigation, knowing he can outlast most individuals who must pay for legal representation.

What is most important to realize, after more than 10 years of established history of building defective products, and creative finances, he is still doing it to people. (THIS IS NOT NEW)

Please do the morally correct thing. He is a menace!

Contact me anytime, day or night, and weekends. I ll will help you any way I can.

Sincerely,
[Name withheld by request] Grandview, MO 64030
