Following is an internal memo circulated at Henderson Engineering, Inc (HEI) congratulating employees for winning the Wizards Stadium project for HEI. The contract is shared with 360 Architecture.
Note the reference to possibly building a Soccer Hall Of Fame.
NeighboorhoodNet would be pleased to publish any additional information readers might provide about the contract, such as what the contract covers, who awarded the contract, the amount each company will receive, whether the contract is contingent on a STAR Bond being passed by Overland Park, and what, if any, involvement the City of Overland Park has in the deal.
NeighborhoodNet has requested additional information from HEI, from 360 Architecture, and from the City of Overland Park. None of their websites nor the Wizards website appear to mention the contract or the Soccer Hall Of Fame.
"We are very excited to announce HEI was recently awarded the new Kansas City Wizards MLS Soccer Stadium project with 360 Architecture! This project consists of a $57 million, 18,500-seat stadium that will be located in Overland Park. This stadium will include 1,200 club seats, 25 luxury suites, a press box, locker rooms, training facilities, concessions, a youth club and much more. There is the possibility of additional components including a Soccer Hall of Fame, commercial office space and a bar/restaurant.
I want to congratulate and thank the project team and the marketing department for their tremendous efforts in landing this project. This is a very exciting for HEI as we have been a long-time corporate sponsor of the Kansas City Wizards and many of us either grew up playing this sport or have children who play soccer in the surrounding areas.
This is great news for HEI and should be a nice addition to our growing portfolio of sports projects!
