Do you wonder what a new 22,000 seat Wizards' stadium will be like?
Well take a look at an almost identical stadium, as mentioned
in the CSL study--the 22,500 seat
Columbus Crew Stadium which opened in 1998.
Just watch this video as you see what it's really like when the stadium
is in use--then let's see if a noise ordinance will even
make a dent in the noise. [Be sure the sound is on when you view this video clip.]
The text accompanying the video clip reads:
Scene from the Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio after the United States clinch their fifth straight World Cup berth with a victory over Mexico. ...

This is a World Cup celebration. But this is a real eye opener for the noise levels that can occur.
A Wizards' stadium would be used not only for Wizard games but for rock concerts and
other functions. A person we've contacted near the Columbus Crew stadium says the soccer noise is tolerable
compared to the rock concerts.
When we have to begin a project by talking noise and light ordinances--
then it's time to put this in a place where this will not be a problem.
