Dear Mr. Peterson,

Pursuant to the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA), K.S.A. 75-4317,

we are formally requesting notification of all public meetings (time/date/place

and agenda of meeting, is one is created) concerning the following:

--Any task force or master plan committee or other public meeting

concerning the future use/land use/study area/or master planning of the recently annexed "Merrill" property, located southeast corner of 159th/69 Highway

--Any task force, master plan committee, or other public meeting

concerning the future use/land use/disposition or master planning

of Steck Plantation--a group of 13 homes on the southeast corner of 159th/Metcalf.

Relevant to these requests, we note that notice must be given to any person or

organization requesting it (Attorney General Opinion No. 86-133) and

Residence of the requester is irrelevant. (Attorney General Opinion No. 86-137).

We also note that a "task force" (or any subordinate group of a public body)

that is appointed by the parent body to weigh options, discuss alternatives, present

recommendations of a plan of action is subject to this Act. (AG Opinion NO. 86-92).

We also request that you forward this letter to every "Presiding officer has duty to provide notice", for any of the above meetings. Please confirm to us that you have received this letter and have made sure that all necessary meeting officers have been notified.
