Formation of the Stanley-Morse Study Area Task Force
May 20,
1986
This next
passage is taken directly from the document
which
shows how the 1985 annextion Task Force was formed.
"The
purpose of forming the Stanley-M<orse Study Area Task Force
was to
develop a Future Land Use Plan for the recently annexed
Stanley
and Morse neighborhoods of southern Overland Park. The
17-member
Task Froce drew its membership from the development
community,
homeowners, major landowners, and others interested
in the
community which included both the Oxford Township Zoning
Board and
the Blue Valley School District (see listing of members in
Appendix
1)."
"A
portion of the Task Force membership was selected by the city
while the
remaining members were chosen by those attending a
community
meeting held on January 30, 1986. The
community
meeting
was intended as an information sesson, both to inform
residents
and landowners of what the city was seeking to do
through
the development of a Future Land Use Plan, and to hear
what
their concerns and hopes were for the neighborhoods.
A second
community meeting was held May 1, 1986, to inform
residents
and landowners of the Task Force recommendations for a
Future
Land Use Plan, and to provide them a chance to respond to
those
recommendations."
