Jim Bills, 338-1300 x2282, Johnson County Waste Water, reports on how people owning the 440 acres in the Blue Valley area (Oxford Township, Section S17) polled on the most recent sewer proposal. Formally, the poll asks whether the land owner would support a petition to bring in sewers. Informally, it is looked upon by residents as a poll for or against sewers. Participants representing 76% of the acreage said no to the proposal. Approximately 10% said yes and the remaining 14% did not respond.

So 86% responded and of that number 88% opposed and 12% favored.

About two years ago a similar poll was taken, but the sewer system being offered was a gravity sewer. A gravity sewer is more disruptive to put in and costs more. Never the less, the results were similar: 90% responded and of those 90% opposed. Apparently, most of the section is satisfied with their septic systems.

Jim also provided a map showing parcel by parcel how the section polled.
