50-Dog Kennel Proposed Across From Oakmont on Highway 12

How To Help Stop This Project

Don't Delay! A second hearing is coming soon on Meadows Kennel!

This project could go to a second hearing possibly in a few weeks for an April hearing date. If you can do only ONE thing--contact Melinda Grosch, planner (below) with your concerns. Here are some issues already identified that you might want to elaborate on.

If possible, please send the same letter to the BZA and to The County Board of Supervisors--they need to be informed of all the issues well ahead of any public hearing. You can send your concerns by any method: letter, email, fax.

Here are things to do, but please do number 1 asap!:

1. Contact Melinda Grosch, county planner in charge of this project, as soon as possible with any of your concerns.

[remember to include the dot between melinda and grosch in the email address - apparently this is often missed]

melinda.grosch@sonoma-county.org

Include this at the top of your correspondence:

Regarding: Meadow's Kennel for 50 Dogs, Project PLP11-0042
Please include my letter in your staff report and offical hearing record

2. Contact the Sonoma County Board of Zoning Adjustments, the BZA, and tell them your concerns. They will hear this project and decide if it is approved or not.

Tell the Zoning Adjustment board member(s) listed below why you oppose this project. In any correspondence (fax, letter, email) please include this information:

  • This concerns Meadows 50-Dog Kennel: PLP11-0042
  • "Please include this in the public record for this project."
  • Let the board members know about your concerns--take a look at the issues which were developed and elaborate on them, or add your own. Nothing beats personal contact! Here are some issues already identified that you might want to elaborate on.

3. Contact the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors (any decision by the BZA can be appealed to the Board of Supervisors for final decision).

See below for individual Supervisors to contact. As with the BZA, please include the following to ensure your voice is heard:

  • This concerns Meadows 50-Dog Kennel: PLP11-0042
  • "Please include this in the public record for this project."
  • Let the board members know about your concerns--take a look at the issues which were developed and elaborate on them, or add your own. Nothing beats personal contact! Here are some issues already identified that you might want to elaborate on.

4. Stay Updated With Time and Date of Upcoming Hearing Before the BZA

Contact, Chelsea Holup, Senior Office Assistant and ask that you be put on the mailing list, to be notifed of hearing date. Phone: 707.565.6105 or email: cholup@sonoma-county.org
